make your own feather hair clip!

My first tutorial! I’m so excited!

Feather hair clips are awesome because you can wear them so many ways and they can make a simple braid look so much more exciting. (Not to mention they are the best accessory for a summer festival!)
So, few weeks back I walked into the local Claire’s and saw some really, really amazing hair clips. I realized that one of my friends’ birthday was coming up, and I knew she adored feather hair accessories - but after taking a look at the price tag, I was baffled. So much for something so simple?
Nevertheless, I didn’t give up on my birthday present idea, and then I thought, why not make one for myself? Or, why not make one for myself and make a tutorial about it?!

DIY cloud wall decor

the-crafty-cloud:

This is a project I’ve come up with last August, when I had my room repainted. Some of the clouds were half done by the time I got the idea of starting this blog, that’s why their sizes vary in the pictures (haha). It’s really quite simple! Please note that this is a rather messy project, so I don’t advise doing this right after you’ve vaccuumed the entire house.
Edit: I forgot to add that this project practically cost no money for me, as the styrofoam came from packaging and the oversized tee was, of course, something that I had previously.

DIY shabby chic matchbox cupboard

the-crafty-cloud:

I was rather confused whether to post this tutorial or not - I had been inspired by another tutorial which I’ve seen here on tumblr. However, crafting miniature furniture out of matchboxes has been around in my life for long; when I was a child, my cousin and I used to make matchbox furniture with my grandma, from sofas to wardrobes, so I am actually surprised I haven’t thought of making this earlier! :)

DIY constellation clothing!

the-crafty-cloud:

This is my take on the ongoing celestial trend I’ve seen all across the internet universe - just think of galaxy nail art and those hipster photographs with the nebulas in them… aren’t stars just awesome? This was inspired by those constellation charts you can see in astronomy books and things like that.

I’ve been planning to make this since forever (actually, this idea got me thinking that I should start a DIY blog), and while it didn’t turn out exactly like I planned, it sure was a lot of fun to make!

Now I have to warn you that this is kinda missing the step-by-step instructions that I usually like to do, so less images, more text it is! I really hope that it will still be easy to understand (as it’s not a difficult process, really).

Okay, enough chatter now, let’s get to work!

DIY jewellery display

the-crafty-cloud:

image

Hello all! I’m here again - this time, with a tutorial for a jewellery display! I badly needed something to hang my necklaces on. (I either kept all of them on the handle of my wardrobe or cluttered somewhere on my desk - neither is very good when you’re leaving in a hurry and want a necklace to accessorize your outfit and then you realize all of them got terribly tangled…) Here’s a colorful way to solve the problem! It’s actually quite simple, but you might need some extra patience also. :)

diy fashion: DIY dream-catcher necklace/headband →

diyfashion:

I took the scraps of junk i had lying around my house to do this DIY. The necklace may not be as metallic and bold as the dream-catcher necklaces you find in Forever21, but i’m pretty content with the earthiness of mine (:

Materials: dream-catcher, a keychain thingy, a pre-made braided…
